The story of this novelette's charting on the bestseller lists is painful to me. 3 weeks after its publication, 'His Indecent Proposition' hit No. 62 on the Barnes and Noble overall bestseller charts. On the very next day, it was pulled from the charts and a thousand points was added to its rank (No. 1053). This despite it selling more copies than another book of mine which has entered the Barnes and Noble Top 100 ('A Virgin Enslaved' by Artemis Hunt at No. 72).After checking with my author friends, I was told that Barnes and Noble does this periodically to erotica as they do not want erotica besmirching its front pages together with the Harry Potters and Hunger Games. I find this unfair because 'His Indecent Proposition' has the same kind of story structure (same, but different) as 'Fifty Shades', and nothing has been done to derail 'Fifty Shades'.
Barnes and Noble have since admitted their 'error' and reinstated the novelette. It went on to hit No. 22 in their overall bestseller charts.
